“The new generation Scania delivers on all points in our strategy to be a leader in sustainability, to be the driver favorite and to generate the best profitability for truck owners in the industry,” says Scania’s President and CEO Henrik Henriksson. The company will unveil the first models in its new truck generation on August 23.
The investment in the new truck range is the largest ever in the company’s 125-year history. In total, SEK 20 billion has been invested in the development of new products and services and in the production.
The new truck generation has been developed at Scania’s Technical Centre in Södertälje, Sweden, by nearly 4,000 employees out of the company’s total staff of 18,000 in Sweden.
In Oskarshamn, in the southern Swedish province of Småland, Scania has completed its largest single industrial investment in two decades. More than SEK 2 billion has been invested, including in a new priming painting shop and a new bodybuilding workshop.
In Scania’s new truck generation, the share of Swedish-manufactured parts and components is also higher than in the current one. Including Scania’s own production, the automotive industry in Sweden stands nearly half of the total added value from production.
The launch of Scania’s new trucks will take place in the presence of specially invited guests in Paris but can also be watched live online or via Scania Group on Facebook.
