Danfoss announced June 12 that it has entered into an exclusivity agreement to conclude the acquisition of Alfagomma.

The intention to acquire the Italian manufacturer aligns with the Danfoss LEAP 2030 strategy, which includes accelerating growth within the Fluid Conveyance division. Fluid Conveyance is a core business unit within the Danfoss Power Solutions segment.

Headquartered in Italy, Alfagomma is a global manufacturer of hoses, fittings, couplings and connectors. The company has approximately EUR 600 million in annual sales and employs 4,500 people across 28 production and assembly sites globally. According to Danfoss, combining the two businesses would create a global leader in hydraulic and industrial hose manufacturing and distribution.

Strategic Growth in Fluid Conveyance

Since 2021, Danfoss has focused on strengthening its Fluid Conveyance business through high-profile acquisitions and infrastructure investments. This includes the 2021 acquisition of Eaton’s Hydraulics business and the recent addition of Hydro Holding in Italy.

Fluid Conveyance is currently positioned as a core, fast-growing business within the Danfoss Power Solutions portfolio.

Presence in Italy

Danfoss has maintained a presence in Italy since 1961. The company currently employs more than 1,100 people across 14 Italian sites. Danfoss indicated that it considers Italy a core country for future development and remains committed to maintaining the industrial base and operations of Alfagomma.

Throughout the exclusivity process, both companies will continue to operate independently to maintain business continuity for customers, suppliers and employees. Danfoss stated its intention to complete the transaction while continuing to invest in the people and capabilities of the Alfagomma organization.

Alfagomma provides fluid handling solutions for various industrial applications, including construction, agriculture, mining, oil and gas, marine and industrial machinery.
