Grede Executives Participate in MEMA Legislative Summit

Grede executives recently participated in the annual MEMA Legislative Summit, discussing with members of congress policies and issues related to automotive suppliers.

Executives from Grede Holdings LLC, a leading producer of cast iron components for the automotive, heavy truck and industrial markets, and a member of the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), visited Washington, D.C. recently to participate in MEMA’s annual Legislative Summit. The meeting is convened to discuss with members of Congress issues and policies related to the automotive supplier industry.

Nearly 120 representatives from 40 supplier companies attended presentations on a range of important topics to the industry. The group also met with130 senators and congressmen with ties to the industry to share their concerns and opinions on key legislative issues impacting growth and jobs in the automotive sector.

Doug Grimm, Grede chairman, president and CEO, and Bill Goodin, vice president, Human Resources, were key contributors to the summit. They visited Congressmen from states where Grede has facilities, including: Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL); Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL); Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN); Rep. Larry Kissell (D-8th District, NC); Rep. Tom Petri (R-6th District, WI), and Rep. Sander Levin (D-12th District, MI), among others. The discussions included key subjects such as CAFE standards, advanced vehicle technology legislation, labor laws, patent legislation and trademark infringements.
