It was once again a record-breaking Open Factory held last weekend at Driveservice, in Poggiofiorito (CH), the logistics hub for Carraro Spare Parts. There were over 350 guests who decided to get to know this industrial reality up close over two days.

The event opened with a meeting dedicated to a hundred students from some schools in the area (Technical Economic Institute "Luigi Einaudi" of Ortona, Institute of Higher Education ''Enrico Mattei'' of Vasto, Technological Institute for Sustainable Mobility of Ortona, Technical Technological Nautical Institute "Leone Acciaiuoli" of Ortona). During this private session, the students were presented with professional opportunities within the Group and then visited the plant and experienced the Carraro VIrtual Experience through special visors.

The main event was held on Sunday afternoon with the opening of the doors to over 250 visitors, including Driveservice employees, family and friends, and many other guests from the area. The participants in this special afternoon had the opportunity to get to know the "behind the scenes" of the Poggiofiorito headquarters, understanding its mechanisms, logistical flows and organization. Also on this day, several visitors were able to immerse themselves in the experience of virtual reality and "digitally touch" Carraro products.

A particular focus of the event was dedicated to Sustainability, both in reference to the activities aimed at reducing the environmental impact in production processes, and with some solidarity initiatives in favor of the Samisad Social Cooperative of Lanciano and the long-distance adoption project of an Indian student - through the NGO Care to Action - with the aim of guaranteeing her on an educational path.

Driveservice Profile – Spare Parts Logistic Hub

With a covered area of more than 10,000 square meters, the Poggiofiorito site has demonstrated over the years what flexibility, competence and focus on objectives mean. Today here we can count on a 360° management of spare parts: storage, protection, configuration of products in kits, excellence in packaging and many other services under development.

It all began in 1996, when the production of bevel gears for differentials was started in Poggiofiorito and then also that of spur gears with straight and helical teeth. Step by step this industrial reality grows to be known even by the most important international OEMs.

Over the years, the company has grown significantly, adding new types of gears for different markets, such as those for the wind sector.

Following the change in market scenarios, in 2018 the Poggiofiorito plant underwent a radical transformation to become, under the Driveservice brand, a logistics company at the service of Carraro Ricambi for the management, storage, handling and packaging of all the Group's spare parts.
