NA Classes 5-7 Orders Remain On Trend

Preliminary North America Classes 5-7 net order data show that segment of the industry remains on trend. Note that these numbers are preliminary. Complete industry data for February, including final order results, will be available mid-March in ACT’s State of the Industry: NA Classes 5-8 Vehicles report. Preliminary orders are subject to revision (±5%). 

“Classes 5-7 orders rose sequentially in February, staying on trend at 25,200 units and rising 9.3% from January,” says Kenny Vieth, ACT’s President and Senior Analyst. He continues, “On a year-over-year basis, medium duty orders fell 5% from last February against a tough year-ago comparison.”

Veith adds, “Seasonal adjustment reduced February’s volume, making it identical to January, as well as to the order trend that started in the second half of 2018.”
