Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of Russia, says he will spend $8 billion to further develop Russia's coal industry. The investment is intended to be spent over the next several years until 2030.
Putin notes that much of the investment will be provided by the private sector.
The money will be put towards increasing mine safety as well as increasing coal output by 430 million tons.
