Medium and Heavy Truck Sales Rose 15% in April

Sales for medium- and heavy-duty trucks rose 15% in April compared to year-ago numbers, and 5% higher than March's sales numbers.

New figures from Wards Communications show sales of medium and heavy trucks was up 15% in April compared to the same time period last year. Sales numbers were also 5% higher than in March. 

Despite the overall gains, sales of Class 8 trucks were down 7%, though Class 7 truck sales were up 7%.

Class 4 trucks have seen the largest increase in sales in 2013 so far with a growth of 24%.
