Data compiled by Wards Communications shows sales of medium and heavy trucks rose 12% in January compared to January 2014. However, they were down 34% in comparison to December sales.
Class 8 truck sales were 23% higher than in January 2014 while Class 7 sales were up 13%.
For the year so far, sales of trucks with a GVW rating above 10,000 lbs. are 12% higher than at the same period last year. Total sales for all truck classes has risen 19%. Sales for every class are up, with Class 4 trucks having the largest increase at 36%.
