New figures from Wards Communications shows medium and heavy truck sales were down 1% in December compared to December 2014, but up 9% overall in 2015.
Sales of trucks above a 10,000 lb. GVW rating totaled 71,482 units in December; this was 24% higher than November 2015.
Both Class 8 and Class 7 truck sales were down compared to December 2014 (11% and 2% respectively). However, for the whole year Class 8 truck sales increased 13% compared to 2014 while Class 7 sales rose 9%.
While all truck classes saw increased sales in 2015, Class 7 and 8 trucks were among those with the highest increases during the year.
