Technology News Tracker: Trends in Electrification Dominate INTERMAT 2018

Electrification was a key theme for many at this year’s INTERMAT.

Both Cummins and Deutz introduced their concept electric drivetrain products which pair an engine with a battery pack to reduce emissions and fuel use.

Dana featured a demonstration hybrid-electric vehicle to show how its hybrid and electric components can be integrated into existing machine designs.

Several OEMs, including Volvo CE and Kobelco, also exhibited concept hybrid and electric vehicles.

Mecalac announced the availability of its 100% electric e12 excavator designed to work a range of 8 hours before needing to be recharged.

Wacker Neuson dedicated an entire segment of its booth to its lineup of zero emission machines, including its new all-electric zero tail excavator.
