Oerlikon Showcases Wide Product Range at bauma 2013

During bauma 2013 Oerlikon's booth displayed a number of the company's products including its line of Shifting Solutions and its range of electrically driven torque hubs.

bauma Munich is the largest exhibition in Europe for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment, which occurs every three years. Notably, it is also the world’s largest commercial exhibition, covering 570,000 m² of exhibition space. This year was no exception, even with the lessened global economy.                              Post show statistics were impressive; 3,420 exhibitors leased over 6 million square feet of display area to showcase their products. Over 530,000 visitors from 200 countries attended the seven-day event.

The Drive Systems booth was easily identified with red–white coloring and the Oerlikon logo dazzling bright on top of it. Oerlikon Fairfield’s displays included a range of electrically driven torque hubs, our CT130, an example of CTL (compact track loader) drive, the CR31 for road compaction and two examples of solutions for underground mining – the tram drive for underground miners and the steerable shuttle car drive that was jointly designed with Graziano.

Oerlikon Graziano showcased its drivelines for Motor Grader machines for road graders and a special area was dedicated to a new product family called “Shifting Solutions,” built especially to show to the visitors all the Shifiting products available nowadays on market produced by Oerlikon Graziano.

The fair gave to customers and journalists the opportunity to meet members of Drive Systems coming from all four regions covered by the Segment - Americas, China, EMEAR and India. The company indeed is considered a “Global Drive Systems Provider” worldwide and this was confirmed by the visits of potential and acquired clients coming from all over the world. High level meetings were held on the stand with famous firms attracted to the displays and interested to Drive Systems capabilities in this market.

For all the week Drive Systems hosted Karen Gao, from Oerlion Oerlikon Textile in Shanghai, that won a full week at bauma Munich thanks to the Oerlikon Inside Magazine game “Be part of it!” Gao says, “I was really excited and honored to attend [the] bauma exhibition. It was a great occasion to see many machines never met before and to get better understanding of Oerlikon world, as well as a good memory for my working experience and my life. I want to thank every colleague for the great help during my Munich trip, I think this is a good opportunity for the employees to get into the company's culture and heritage.”

Also, during the exhibition, Oerlikon Graziano hosted an after-hours event on Wednesday 17 April were all the team with customers and journalists celebrated 3 decades and 20 million synchronizers produced.
