HARTING’s Han Ex connector series have been certified to the National Electric Code’s NEC 500 standard for use in Class I, Division II hazardous locations, making them available for use across North America. An ideal alternative to hard-wiring electrical connections, the Han Ex range is particularly well-suited for applications in the oil and gas, mining and chemical industries and in process automation. When compared to hard-wiring electrical circuits, Han Ex connectors increase installation speed and safety while reducing downtime for maintenance downtime and troubleshooting.

All Han Ex connectors offer IP65/67 protection class in the mated position. Inserts and housings are available for for sizes 3A to 48B. Their contact inserts provide a high number of poles while meeting the standards of the ignition protection class even in the tightest spaces. For example, up to 24 contacts can be located in the size 24B housing. Crimp and screw terminals as well as HARTING’s proprietary fast connection technology, Han-Quick Lock, can be used for creating connections. Housings are equipped with cable outlets for thread sizes M20 to M40.

Their reliable and vibration-proof Han Ex contacting provides maximum safety even in demanding applications. Extremely robust metal locking levers lock the connector and can only be released with a tool, preventing it from being opened by accident in an explosive atmosphere. Their blue colour makes for easy identification of inherently safe circuits.
