Electrification specialist Equipmake has readied a range of high performance yet cost-effective advanced electric motors for off-highway vehicles, including the APM electric motor.

  • Permanent magnet motor
  • Utilizes spoke architecture in which the magnets are arranged like the spokes of a wheel to provide a cooling advantage
  • Produces more power and torque because the motor can be kept cool
  • Uses less expensive magnet materials and conventional manufacturing methods, allowing it to be made smaller, lighter and more cost-effectively
  • Compact package includes integrated components such as inverter and gearbox
  • Adaptable design can be applied to vast range of off-highway vehicles, such as construction equipment
  • Can aid development of future autonomous off-highway vehicles
  • Two motors available for off-highway applications
  • APM 120 offers peak power of 125 kW at 12,000 rpm, continuous power of 75 kW, peak torque of 130 Nm (95.9 lb.-ft.), and power density of just under 9 kW per kg
  • APM 120 weighs 14 kg (30.9 lbs.) and measures 200 mm (7.9 in.) in length and 170 mm (6.7 in.) in diameter with integrated gearbox
  • APM 200 has peak power of 220 kW at 10,000 rpm, continuous power of 110 kW, peak torque of 450 Nm (331.9 lb.-ft.) and power density of over 5 kW per kg
  • APM 200 weighs 40 kg (88.2 lbs.) and with an integrated gearbox measures 247 mm (9.7 in.) in length and 318 mm (12.5 in.) in diameter
  • Both motors can be specified with or without an integrated gearbox and can be mounted horizontally or vertically
  • Supporting power control electronics also available
