TE Connectivity (TE) launched a customer-focused, interactive website, www.HarnWare.com, which offers details on the latest harness design software that can be licensed from TE. The new version HarnWare V6 software has been re-engineered using the latest programming tools to offer improvements in performance and enhance the user interface. On the new website, harness designers will find details on the HarnVis V2 3D harness design visualization system that generates to-scale 3D models.
“This customer-focused, interactive site has been designed for the harness designer who knows exactly what they want from their harness, but needs a tool to help design and select components quickly and easily,” says Paul Newman, Product Engineer, TE Aerospace, Defense & Marine. Along with a brand new design and modern appearance, the website now offers updated harness component information and new product ranges and also hyperlinks to relevant product information.
The latest HarnWare V6 software is a robust, computer-aided design package that enables users to produce high-quality wiring harness assembly drawings, parts lists/bill of materials, labor estimates, RoHS compliance codes for each component, cable cross-section designs, connector planform drawings, wiring schematics and schedules. Data can also be exported in a variety of formats to allow transfer of information into other computer systems. Users can supplement the databases of preferred parts by adding other component data in to the HarnWare User Parts Library.
The new version of HarnWare V6 software gives engineers access to a more detailed and accurate design, as well as provides the design and quotation up to 20 times faster. The design software also offers preferred part selection to provide the best delivery and price, a more cost-effective design and it will confirm parts are compatible with the intended service conditions and with mating parts.
The latest HarnVis V2 3D harness design visualization system within HarnWare software offers automatic generation of to-scale 3D models of wiring harnesses and components. These 3D models provide “virtual prototypes” of harnesses, allowing the user to see the harness with lengths, diameters and parts shown to-scale. By simply clicking on a part, the user can access such data as part numbers, materials, finishes, adhesives, etc.
