Comer Industries is participating in SIM 2013, the exhibition dedicated to the mining industry, that will be held at the Parc des Expositions in Besançon, France, from October 2 to 4 (stand D4). The event is organized with the support of Unicem (National Union of French extractive industries and construction materials) and it will be attended by more than 500 participants; many workshops with industry professionals as well as two dedicated forums organized by Unicem are on the agenda.

Comer Industries’ design and manufacturing processes are managed according to Lean 6 Sigma and based on automotive industry methodology. Comer Industries’ advanced engineering systems are developed and thoroughly tested at the company’s Mechatronics Research Center for applied research and innovation. The Mechatronics Research Center has 11 test rooms and it is equipped with cutting edge data acquisition systems testing equipment and simulators which reproduce machine operating environment. This blend of state-of-the-art technology allows Comer Industries to validate new designs, leading to reduced homologation expenses incurred by mining OEMs. Since the opening of the Mechatronics Research Center in 1996, Comer Industries made significant investment to expand its scope. The company added testing equipment for electric motors and a new climate chamber allowing for extreme temperature testing.

The products on display at SIM are planetary drives for mobile and stationary applications: the PGR-132 unit, with integrated axial piston motor, which is used for the translation of tracked machines (mini excavator, mini transporter, etc.) and the PGA-102CPC unit, a modular planetary drive with integral feet, that is particularly suitable for different types of belt conveyors thanks to its robustness.

Participation at SIM 2013 is organized in collaboration with the company’ French branch Comer Industries Sarl located in Serris, an important presence in the French market to be closer to customers in the area thanks to a qualified sales staff.
