Kvaser U100 Single-Channel CAN/CAN FD to USB Interface

Kvaser AB unveils the Kvaser U100, a robust, single-channel CAN/CAN FD to USB interface with reinforced galvanic isolation.

• Suited to rugged applications in automotive, marine, industrial, heavy-duty vehicle and heavy industries
• Supports CAN FD, up to 8 Mbit/s (with correct physical layer implementation)
• Features enhanced protection of its own electrical circuits, as well as a vibration, shock and drop-proof housing and high-quality cabling to ensure robust design
• Physically robust due to IP67 rating and rugged housing
• High temperature range of −40-85 C (-40-185 F)
• Includes DB-9 connector
• Two highly-visible LED bars show CAN traffic status including busload, error frames and overrun
• Robust connector with inverted strain release handles more force than previous models when pulled or bent
• PC- or CANbus- side cable replacement can be carried out by an authorized Kvaser party without compromising IP67 integrity, reducing cost over product’s lifecycle and enabling fast delivery of custom configurations
• 20,000 msg/s, each time stamped with a resolution of 100 μs
• Supported on Windows and Linux (including SocketCAN)
• Compatible with J1939, CANopen, NMEA 2000 and DeviceNet
• Fully compatible with applications written for other Kvaser CAN hardware with Kvaser CANlib
• Mitigates the risk of disturbance caused by current leakage to measurements on the system under test
• Withstands voltage stress over a much longer timescale than equivalent interfaces
