Design & Engineering Insights: Proemion Says Digital Transformation Increasing use of Telematics

Telematics use will continue to grow as off-road equipment users look to gain more insight into their machine and business operations.

Rogier van der Kaaden, Business Development Leader, Proemion, says use of telematics is no longer an option in heavy-duty equipment. A growing desire for remote diagnostics and a changing workforce which is used to having more information available to it are among the drivers for the increased use of telematics.

Its use will only continue to grow as technology evolves and OEMs continue to develop autonomous driving capabilities for which telematics can be a key component. Telematics data will also continue to be integrated with existing business data to provide customers with operational insights and enable a business' entire ecosystem to become more interconnected.
