Fendt, North America's premier tractor brand and a worldwide brand of AGCO Corporation, has introduced the new 700 Series tractor line, offering a broader range of premium options and price points.
The new 700 Series features a wide range of applications designed to fit the needs of farmers who demand the best in innovation, engineering and technology to increase their farm's efficiency and productivity.
"The Fendt 700 Series is an exceptionally compact, high-horsepower tractor that provides maximum engine hp ratings from 145 to 240 for a broad range of farmwork, from heavy-duty field duties to light row crop operations, as well as the nimbleness to serve in loading and feeding operations with a front-end loader," says Conor Bergin, Product Marketing Manager for High-Horsepower Tractors.
The 700 Series continues the Fendt tradition of providing farmers and custom operators with industry-leading engineering and technology, such as a front PTO and three-point hitch, power flow through a continuously variable transmission (CVT), class-leading hydraulic capacity, and the world-class Fendt Variotronic electronic interface. Other improvements for operator comfort and control in the 700 Series include cutting-edge PTO engineering, which allows implements to be driven at reduced engine speeds, new windshield wipers on the VisioPlus cab that have a 300-degree wiping field, and new LED headlamps with leveling ability.
The new 700 Series models include the 714, 716, 718, 720, 722 and 724, all available in the Profi and ProfiPlus option packages which include many premium Fendt features as standard equipment. The 714 through 724 models now feature stronger front axles (previously found only on the 722 and 724) for a higher payload and improved steering characteristics.
More efficient, capable and productive
At the heart of the new lineup is a Tier 4 Final six-cylinder diesel engine, utilizing an cooled exhaust gas recirculation (cEGR) system joined to the Fendt tried-and-tested selective catalytic reduction (SCR) emission control package. For improved fuel economy and reduced maintenance, engineers added a coated soot filter to the exhaust system, which allows for automatic cleaning of the system as the tractor is being used — without an additional downstream fuel injection into the exhaust stream.
Each 700 Series model is equipped with the industry-leading Fendt Vario CVT, designed for smooth, efficient operation and an infinite range of operating speeds. Productivity upgrades also include an optional 50 gpm hydraulic system. The 700 Series can meet the ever-increasing demand for more hydraulic power, a higher-lift-capacity rear linkage, and improved ease of maintenance through remote measuring points for hydraulic and transmission fluid.
A new four-speed 1000E PTO ensures higher operating efficiency by driving the rear PTO at 1,000 rpm, even at reduced engine speeds. This expands the range of PTO applications and contributes to the 700 Series being the most fuel-efficient tractor in its class.
Fendt is also leading the way in innovation when it comes to loader technology. The new Fendt CargoProfi represents the latest development of the tractor and front loader unit. New measuring and tilt sensor systems, as well as a job computer, enable helpful new loader functions. Farmers can track loaded weight, both individual and total, when loading dairy feed commodities or hay bales. Farmers can also shake the bucket, ensuring even firmly packed material is dumped completely or save the positions of the arm and attachment to recreate a specific action, such as loading the total mixed ration (TMR) mixer. These new settings and functions are easy to adjust and view in the Varioterminal.
Class-leading visibility and technology
New innovations to enhance operator productivity, comfort and safety include a new front windshield wiper with a large operating angle of up to 300 degrees, a new steering column switch, and a spray nozzle integrated into the wiper arm. The 300-degree wiper is available as standard for the VisoPlus panorama cab in the Profi and ProfiPlus configurations on tractors fitted with a fixed front window.
New optional low-current-drain lighting on the 700 Series comes from industry-leading 100% LED illumination throughout the tractor, with the high and low beams featuring Bi-LED lamps with headlight leveling to help better match lighting to both field and transport needs. The work lights and corner lights are also fitted with LED bulbs to provide precise illumination and visibility to the implements and wheel arches.
Inside, the new Varioterminal 10.4B is mounted on a new terminal holder providing an improved range of motion for ultimate operator comfort and offers touch-screen technology and an LCD display with an LED backlight. Simple and intuitive navigation allow for quick on-the-go adjustments to tractor settings while in the field.
The new terminal also offers VarioGuide automatic steering, VarioDoc documentation for maintenance and other records, and Variotronic IM implement control — which allows the implement to signal the tractor of position and power needs. The new system also makes it possible to exchange VarioGuide field settings with other vehicles in the fleet.
