From Thursday, September 25 to Thursday, October 2, 2014, the TII Group is showcasing its wares at IAA Commercial Vehicles, Hall 27 Stand E31 and outside at M 38. The firm is focussing on the KAMAG products Wiesel and TruckWiesel, the SCHEUERLE-NICOLAS EuroCompact and the SCHEUERLE-NICOLAS Superflex.
There has already been huge interest in the TII Group's offering in advance of the IAA. “We are expecting a lot of visitors to the show. The interest from the logistics industry in our swap body lifting trucks and terminal tractors is growing year by year,” says Jürgen Dirr, Area Sales Manager with responsibility for business with Wiesel and TruckWiesel. Hardly surprising, as the multi-talented products deliver full performance in single shift operations for handling of swap bodies under the toughest conditions and save real money in the process. New since September 2013: the Wiesel is available as EUROMOT 3B-compliant, which means it can have a regular green sticker. The kingpin can now move freely and the driver can adjust the buffer pneumatically from C 715 to C 745 and C 782 whilst remaining in the cab. A hydraulically adjustable snowplough in a special attachment on the front of the cab also allows for winter use. KAMAG Transporttechnik is presenting a fully equipped vehicle at this year´s IAA. In addition, KAMAG is also offering the following new technical developments:
Reinforced underride guard at the rear (can be telescoped laterally)
- Protected LED taillights mounted above the underride guard
- All working floodlights in LED design
- Access ladder to lift frame positioned behind the driver´s cab
- Cab equipped with all-air suspension
- Fully equipped Mercedes Benz ATEGO driver's cab
- Improved warranty conditions
In its role as an efficient semi-trailer tractor for one-man operations, the TruckWiesel from KAMAG is equipped with a hydraulically liftable and lowerable fifth wheel for a fifth wheel load of up to 18 tonnes. A wide selection of fifth wheel coupling heights can be realised in order to facilitate transport of the complete range of semi-trailers. At this year´s IAA, KAMAG is presenting a terminal tractor in Euromot 3A design. Customers profit, therefore, from all advantages due to fulfilment of the pollutant standard, as well as the “green sticker,” which allows the vehicles to enter inner-city environmental zones.
Wiesel and TruckWiesel are the most cost-effective solution for on-site transports in logistics yards, as all manner of standard swap bodies and trailers can be moved or transported. Long maintenance intervals of 1,000 operating hours come as standard with the Wiesel, thanks to the almost wear-free, hydrostatic drive. The high level of serviceability is supported by the use of large-scale production sub-assemblies and components whereby fuel consumption is around 5 litres per operating hour. As a result, the “Wiesel” is indispensable for every logistics yard and terminal where efficient container handling is a prerequisite for economical yard logistics. The 110 kW water-cooled diesel engine from Mercedes-Benz (optional 129 kW, 115 kW with Euromot 3B) accelerates the tractor up to a maximum speed of 40 km/h. Due to the hydrostatic drive, it is possible to go from a stationary position to maximum speed without any shift jerking and without traction interruption. The maximum speed when reversing is likewise 40 km/h, the advantage of which is clearly noticeable during shunting operations. In addition, the change in direction can be carried out during driving which once again increases the rate of turnover, through wear-free hydraulic deceleration and the subsequent immediate change of direction.
Alongside the Wiesel and TruckWiesel, the SCHEUERLE-NICOLAS EuroCompact and the SCHEUERLE-NICOLAS Superflex are being exhibited for heavy duty transports on public roads up to payloads of approximately 120 tonnes at 80 km/h. The EuroCompact is ideal for transport of heavy industrial and plant machinery and can also boast the best payload/tare weight ratio in its class. A large selection of compact dollies, dolly bogie units and platform trailers with different numbers of axle lines and permissible axle loads, enables operators to put together the ideal combination whatever their needs. The payload gain comes primarily from the weight optimization that has been applied across the whole vehicle. The compact design also provides a larger cargo area even through the overall length is the same, as well as a high level of manoeuvrability with 65-degree steering angle on the front pendulum axle dolly and 60° on the rear bogie. The design of the rear bogie unit incorporates a particularly wide (900 mm) vehicle body, positioned very low to the ground (550 mm). This also allows the vehicle to accommodate very wide and high excavator arms.
The Superflex is a true multi-talent and extremely flexible, as the name would suggest – the freely positionable axle module, which can be removed and used without additional tools, is a particular highlight. A flexible two-axle module can be used, moved or removed from the vehicle without additional tools. This makes the Superflex quick and easy to adapt whatever the task at hand. Both front axle lines can be moved in 500 mm increments between the gooseneck and rear suspension when extended telescopically. For vehicles with a double-telescoping function, the axles can be moved towards both the gooseneck and the rear suspension. This innovation enables operators to adjust the vehicle to the actual position of the payload centre of gravity and to exploit each axle line to the optimum. Moreover, the steering angle of 60 degrees allows for maximum manoeuvrability.
The sophisticated and user-friendly technical design and high product quality of the exhibited vehicles is typical of the extensive product range of the TII Group, which is a global leader in the manufacture of vehicle solutions for the heaviest loads.
