Yanmar has announced an investment of R$ 280 million to build a new factory in Indaiatuba, São Paulo, Brazil. The project aims to expand production capacity, integrate operations and improve processes to meet increasing demand.

The new 140,000 square meter facility will be three times the size of Yanmar’s current factories in the region. The first phase, covering 36,000 square meters, is scheduled to begin operations in 2027 with full completion expected by 2030. Initially, the plant will increase tractor production capacity from 5,000 to 7,000 units per year.

According to company representatives, the new factory is essential for meeting market demand and advancing growth in the region, with a goal of increasing its tractor market share from 10% to 12%.

The project will feature automated assembly lines, improved logistics and advanced safety and ergonomics systems. Sustainability elements include the use of natural lighting, photovoltaic energy and automated lighting control, aligning with Yanmar’s global environmental goals. The company expects the expansion to create approximately 100 direct and indirect jobs by 2029.

The facility will also consolidate manufacturing with administrative, commercial and executive offices to enhance operational synergy. Yanmar plans to implement its Yanmar Production System, based on manufacturing processes from Japan. The company has operated in Brazil for more than 65 years.
