On this week’s episode of OEM Industry Update we speak with Romain Nicolas, Business Developer – Simcenter Amesim, Siemens Digital Industries Software, about the benefits of system simulation technology. He says the basic principle of Siemens’ system simulation technology Simcenter Amesim is to provide engineers a simple way to assess the different interactions between components in a dynamic, transient and accurate manner. This enables engineers to evaluate aspects of their off-highway equipment designs such as fuel efficiency and NVH (noise, vibration and harshness).

System simulation technology allows engineers to begin integration work early in the design process and understand the different tradeoffs that are in place when designing a machine. Simulations are executed very quickly, often within minutes, to provide insight on the behavior of the machine and its components which helps to speed up the design process.

OEM Industry Update covers various technologies and trends in the heavy equipment engineering and manufacturing industries. Click here to find past episodes of the OEM Industry Update podcast.
