To the end of the earth

We're coming up on OEM Off-Highway's busy travel season. In the next few months our team will visit Hawaii (poor us, I know) for the National Fluid Power Assocation's Annual Conference featuring an all-star line-up of speakers and topics including:

  • Customer Perspective: Business Development at Global Scale
Kenneth Gray, Global Product Manager – Large Excavators, Caterpillar, Inc.
  • Thriving in a Changing Global and Macroeconomic Environment
John Caslione, President and CEO of GCS Business Capital, LLC
  • The China Phenomenon: What Does the Future Hold, and What Does it Mean for You?
Haiyan Wang, Founding and Managing Partner, China India Institute
  • Creating a Company-wide Process for Strategic Thinking
Mark L. Thompson, Partner, Decision Processes International

Associate Editor Sara Jensen and Consultant Stacy Roberts will attend the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, IN, to seek out the latest on-highway technologies including hybrid drive systems, chassis development, lighting, brakes, name it!

Shortly thereafter comes the triennial INTERMAT show in Paris, France. I'm really excited to head back to the show and compare it to 2009, which we all know was a pretty lackluster year world wide. We were lucky enough to land an exclusive look into the on-board weighing system by Volvo CE that won an INTERMAT 2012 Innovation Gold Award and will be our featured cover story in our March issue!

May sends us back to Vegas for Waste Expo and the Fluid Power Expo. This is our first time at Waste Expo...does anybody have insight into must-see show areas or companies?

Then, for the grand finale, yours truly will be jetting off to Weisbaden, Germany (just West of Frankfurt) to attend AND MODERATE the 2nd International Conference Next Generation Off-Highway Engines! It's quite an honor to be requested to play a role in a show's sessions, and I'm very excited (albeit terrified) for the experience.

Wish me luck! Make sure to let us know about shows you're excited to attend and why. We love hearing about events in the industry!
