At the 2014 CONEXPO tradeshow, MANN+HUMMEL Purolator, development partner and series supplier to the international automotive and mechanical engineering industries, will present a new filter head with integrated electric pump for the PreLine fuel prefilter.
The filter head has a number of convincing advantages. After servicing the PreLine fuel prefilter the new filter element is automatically filled with fuel. This is very practical and also enables use of PreLine with the pump function in inaccessible installation positions. For applications with long fuel lines or a greater suction height the pump ensures the engine is continuously supplied with fuel. It also enables a constant pressure level in front of the high-pressure pump over the complete service interval. The filter head is compact and offers great flexibility for the mounting of its accessories. The diesel heater, electric pump and inlet and outlet pipes can be fitted on the right or left side of the filter head. As a result, PreLine with its new head is suitable for almost all installation spaces.
During a cold start the pump ensures that the fuel circuit is immediately supplied with fuel. The PreLine prefilter for diesel fuels separates coarse particles and water and extends the service life of the main fuel filter. This reduces engine wear and damage to the sensitive injection system. The complete series includes seven sizes for nominal flow rates from 50 to 600 liters/hour.
