Horton Inc., a worldwide leader of engine cooling solutions, has been awarded the Governor's International Trade Award for manufacturing. The award is given by the Minnesota Trade Office and honors companies that excel in the international marketplace. Lt. Governor Yvonne Prettner-Solon presented awards to nine Minnesota companies during a ceremony at the Minnesota State Capitol on March 11, 2014.
To qualify for the award, Minnesota-based nominees must demonstrate growth in international business, while increasing or maintaining employment in Minnesota over the past three years. Eligible companies must also have developed and demonstrated innovative ideas and approaches to doing business internationally.
“Horton is honored to be recognized for contributions to the positive impact export has on Minnesota’s overall economy,” says Michel Locquegnies, Director of International Business Development for Horton. “Over the past several years, we have searched for and found new business partners in 20 countries. In addition to this global development, Horton is expanding its Roseville, MN corporate headquarters.”
International trade and exporting have been one of Horton’s continued growth initiatives. Horton’s focus on innovation enables the company to exceed the rapidly changing requirements for reduced-emission engines in on- and off-highway vehicles and equipment throughout the world.
