According to data gathered by Interact Analysis, the global off-highway vehicle market is moving out of a downturn and is expected to see some steady growth in the coming years.

The market grew from 5.8 million units in 2024 to 6 million in 2025. Interact Analysis expects that number to reach 7.8 million by 2030, with agriculture and material handling driving much of the increase.

Construction equipment production is also expected to pick up in North America and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Production is forecast to grow 13% in North America and 9% in EMEA in 2027. China and the broader Asia-Pacific region, meanwhile, are expected to see production declines.

Electric equipment is also gaining ground. Battery-electric vehicles are projected to make up 44% of the off-highway market by 2035, up from 33% in 2025. Material handling is expected to account for most of that growth, particularly for equipment used indoors and in predictable work cycles.

Smaller machines continue to make up a large portion of the market, with 43% of off-highway vehicles falling below 18 kW. Interact Analysis expects electric equipment adoption to continue expanding into larger machine categories later this decade.
