Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) President Dennis Slater issued the following statement to mark Manufacturing Day 2017:
AEM and our member companies are proud to once again support National Manufacturing Day, an opportunity each year to recognize the women and men who make up the core of the American economy.
Our industry is proud to support 1.3 million, good-paying U.S. equipment manufacturing jobs, and to have added $159 billion to the economy of the United States last year. That is why AEM has focused on telling this story every day this year, by partnering with our member companies to welcome dozens of elected officials to manufacturing facilities across the country this year. These visits are essential in communicating the types of policies upon which modern U.S. manufacturing depends.
Behind every product you encounter on a farm or a construction site is a story -- a story of pride, and a story of people. AEM hopes that message comes through loudly and clearly every day, and most especially on Manufacturing Day 2017.
