Economic growth in areas such as the Asia-Pacific region and Latin America is helping the mining industry in Quebec grow as well. An increased demand for more cars, refrigerators, roads, bridges, homes and aircraft have fueled the need for metals such as steel, copper and zinc.
So far this year Quebec has been mining large amounts of gold, silver, iron ore and copper to meet the consumer demands. With rise in need for materials, mining will see an increased production from existing mines as well as exploration for and implementation of new mines.
