U.S. Army Orders More FMTV Trucks From Oshkosh Defense

The U.S. Army has ordered over 400 FMTV trucks and trailers from Oshkosh Defense.

The U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC) has placed an order for Oshkosh Defense to deliver over 400 Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) trucks and trailers. These vehicles help support Army and National Guard units with various missions at home and abroad including combat operations, relief efforts and resupply missions.

Seventeen models are included in the FMTV series with a range of 2.5-ton to 10-ton payloads. Parts used in the vehicle series have an 80% commonality to help streamline maintenence as well as cost efficiency.

The order is part of a five-year contract awarded to Oshkosh Defense that will last until 2014.
