Several John Deere employees in Moline, IA, have been spending their Saturdays volunteering at the local middle school, teaching students about engineering.
The company's goal is to encourage an interest in science, technology, engineering and math, also known as STEM, to students in the hopes they'll continue to stay interested and eventually become part of the future STEM workforce.
STEM workers around the world are already in short supply, which is why John Deere set up its volunteer programs to start encouraging an enthusiam for STEM programs at an early age.
