FTR State of Freight webinar looks ahead to riskier climate in 2016

The FTR State of Freight webinar will focus on the impending transportation industry risks that await in 2016 and further on into 2017.

As we move into the last quarter of 2015, FTR Economy Expert Bill Witte and Truck and Transportation Expert Noël Perry will explore the risks to anticipate in 2016 during the State of Freight webinar scheduled for Thursday, November 12, at 11 a.m. EDT.

After 18 months of relative stability, we enter 2016 wary of risks in global economics, transport regulation and capacity tightness. Although such risks get even bigger in 2017, industry participants would be wise to be ready to confront them in 2016. Should the worst effect be delayed until 2017, any preparation accomplished in 2016 will pay off handsomely - just a year late.

Jonathan Starks, FTR Director of Transportation Analysis, comments, “The U.S. economy isn't running on all cylinders right now. However, we have managed to continue to grow at a fairly stable pace for a long stretch of time - one of the longest post-WWII recoveries to date. This creates a unique environment, especially when it comes to the cyclical nature of freight demand. Inventories are high, demand is sluggish and regulations are going to impact all of the modes. You'll want to hear from FTR's noted economists, Bill Witte and Noël Perry, to help you understand the risks that are out there for 2016, and how to keep an eye on changing fundamentals."

This webinar will be moderated by Starks. A participant Q&A session will be held after the presentation.
Registration is required prior to webinar date.
