INTERMAT moves onto the international scene to create INTERMAT ASEAN.

INTERMAT, the international trade show for construction machinery and materials, has associated with IMPACT, a Thai trade show organizer, to create a new INTERMAT show and access the whole ASEAN region.

The first edition will take place in Bangkok, from June 8-10, 2017.

ASEAN is one of the world's fastest growing regions and the development of the infrastructure network is essential for the advancement of ASEAN countries. Power, transportation, telecommunications, water projects, among others, need to find sources of funding to ensure the economic growth. The ASEAN infrastructure market holds a huge potential over the next decade with US$60 billion needed per year until 2022 to fulfill all the infrastructure needs in the region.

Therefore, INTERMAT ASEAN will present a complete range of products that suit the region’s needs: production and use of construction materials, earthmoving, civil engineering, concrete manufacture, buildings and work sites, lifting, handling, drilling, boring, road infrastructures, mining and quarry equipment, vehicles and transportation, components and accessories, demolition, recycling, etc.

Supported by the Thai authorities, the show will also display the latest innovations in relation with the regional needs, and conferences in order to assist ASEAN countries in their development.

INTERMAT ASEAN takes over CONSTECH show already organized by IMPACT the last year, and totalizing more than 300 exhibiting companies and 5,000 visitors coming from all around ASEAN countries.

This new event is in line with the international aim of INTERMAT to help build an efficient and sustainable infrastructure in this area of the world.

Isabelle Alfano, INTERMAT Show Director, says, "I am very proud to bring INTERMAT in Bangkok and to be partner of IMPACT, a renowned show organizer. Thailand is a fast growing country with strong construction challenges. Being present in Thailand will enable INTERMAT to spread all around ASEAN countries, bringing experience from well-established construction equipment manufacturers to provide Asian professionals with strong and efficient solutions to meet their needs."

Loy Joon How, General Manager of IMPACT, states, "ASEAN is one of the world's most dynamic and fast growing regions, and Thailand is
strategically located within the heart of the region. With the launch of the ASEAN Economic community, comprising 600 million people, connectivity is the key for trade and economic growths. As such, the region requires US$60 billion in annual investments to support its infrastructure development needs. This is the motivating factor for us to stage INTERMAT ASEAN 2017 as the strategic regional construction platform to bring technology, innovation and support the growth of ASEAN's construction industry and markets."

Sangvorn Lipatapanlop, President of Thai Contractors Association, says "Nowadays, the construction industry in Thailand and ASEAN region is growing with a lot of mega projects ordered by the government and the private sector for the next few year. This is a key factor leading to rising operation cost and the arrival of migrant workers from other countries. Construction technologies will help contractors to save operation cost and provide higher quality of construction projects. That is the reason why we are happy to coorganize the first edition of INTERMAT ASEAN, the leading construction equipment trade show to help the entire region to get better value for the construction industry and
achieve a faster economic growth in ASEAN."
