Odyne Awarded DOE Contract for Hybrid Advancement

Odyne is awarded $2.9 million from DOE to advance hybrid systems in commercial truck applications

Odyne Systems LLC, (covered in OEM Off-Highway's March 2010 Green Issue here) has been awarded a $2.9 million contract from the Dept. of Energy's Cost Shared Project with co-funding from the South Coast Air Quality Mgmt. District in California. The contract will allow Odyne to continue to advance hybrid systems in commercial truck applications.

Through this project, Odyne will install seven Odyne Hybrid Power systems featuring advanced technology into bucket trucks and underground utility trucks which will be used in normal fleet operations across the United States.
