DOE Collecting Data on Hydrogen Fueling Stations

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced up to $2 million in funding will be available to collect data from hydrogen fueling stations. This data collection project's goal is to show how hydrogen refueling technologies have progressed as well as investigate how to lower costs and improve operations so that hydrogen technologies can become more mainstream.

Over the course of the next five years, data will be collected on technology innovations, the progress towards technical targets and identifying future research and development possibilities. 

The DOE is accepting applications for funding to test new refueling technologies that could help lower the cost of using hydrogen. Examples of technologies include advanced compressor designs that would lower the number of compressors needed at refueling stations, larger capacity hydrogen delivery tanks and advanced electrolyzers that produce hydrogen at higher pressures.
