DOE Announces Funding for Small Businesses Developing Renewable Energy Technologies

The U.S. Department of Energy announces up to $9 million in funding will be made available to small businesses developing energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced up to $9 million in funding will be made available this year for small businesses to advance energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. This funding is designed to help bring new clean energy technologies to market faster, reduce the countries dependence on non-renewable energy sources as well as promote job creation.

Eight topics and 30 subtopics in areas including advanced manufacturing, biomass, hydrogen and fuel cells will be eligible for funding.

Funding will be made available through the DOE's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
