Cleveland's RTA Votes to Join NASA to Test Hydrogen Fuel Cell Powered Buses

Cleveland's RTA board recently voted to work with the NASA Glenn Research Center to test the operation of buses powered by hydrogen fuel cells.

The board of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) recently voted to join the NASA Glenn Research Center to operate a bus using hydrogen-based fuel and emit water from its tailpipe. 

The fuel cell-powered bus would have the ability to travel up to 80 miles per day and seat 57 passengers. Studies have also shown fuel cell buses to be more efficient as well as run quieter than diesel-fueled buses.
