New DOE Webinars Will Focus on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Technologies as well as Training for a Clean Energy Workforce

The DOE's upcoming EERE webinars will be centered around energy efficiency and renewable technologies, as well as training to enhance the skills of the U.S.'s clean energy workforce.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will be hosting several new Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy (EERE) webinars in the coming weeks which will provide the latest information on energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. There will also be a webinar geared towards training for individuals in the clean energy workforce.

December 5, 2012, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) - "Global Solutions for Global Challenges: International Collaborations to Advance Bioenergy Research" will be a live webcast focused on the progress of current collaborative research being conducted by scientists and researchers in the U.S., China, Brazil, Canada, Finland and other countries on feedstock logistics and biomass conversion technologies.

December 6, 2012, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST - "NTER: A Revolutionary New Online Training Platform" will provide information about the open-source, web-based interactive learning environment NTER, which allows users to develop customizable training programs and materials. NTER uses a combination of advanced technology, simulation-based learning and finding from learning science to help train personnel.

December 12, 2012, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST - "Upgrading Renewable and Sustainable Carbohydrates for the Production of High Energy Density Fuels" will highlight development of green hydrocarbon fuels as an alternative to petrochemical feedstocks. Carbohydrates are derived from the hydrolysis of lignocellulose, a carbon-neutral source of energy obtained from wood, agricultural waste and woody grasses.
