Max the Miner chats with Roger O'Quinn, Product Manager for Caterpillar's Room and Pillar Project, on the new CM235 Continuous Miner with a 275 hp cutting head, which is the highest power in the mining industry.

The concentration on the machine design was maneuverability, so it is equipped with 110 hp tram motors with a variable frequency drive.

The back end of the machine was shortened almost 2.5 ft. over the previous models, as well as bevelled the back corners to improve the CM235's turning radius.
