New Holland’s T6 Series tractors have been further enriched by the addition of two new Auto Command tractors which feature a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Two four-cylinder models are available: a T6.140 and a T6.160, providing up to 143 and 163 engine horsepower with Engine Power Management (EPM).The four-cylinder design ensures outstanding maneuverability, ultimate farming flexibility and exceptionally efficient productivity in compliance with Tier 4 Interim (Tier 4A) emissions regulations.
“The T6 Auto Command Series is an excellent choice for professional farmers, contractors and specialist agribusinesses,” explains Michael Cornman, Dairy and Livestock Segment Marketing Manager. “These tractors are ideal for haymaking, row crop and vegetable operations and front-mounted implement work, like blades for snow removal. Smooth acceleration and deceleration facilitate high speed transport, and New Holland’s industry-leading ECOBlue SCR technology completes this efficient package.”
The Auto Command transmission extends the choice available to farmers in the T6 segment, complementing the ElectroShift semi-powershift and Dual Command mechanical transmission options.
The Auto Command transmission is so smart it’s simple
T6 tractors are fitted with the latest Auto Command CVT. Developed and manufactured in-house at New Holland’s transmission plant in Antwerp, Belgium, these transmissions are a further refined version of the CVTs found in T7 Series tractors.
The CommandGrip joystick found in the new T6 line features the same forced-based operating logic that is used in other products today. The further the joystick is pushed, the faster the tractor goes. Eight different functions are also grouped on this joystick, which allows operators to raise their three-point hitch, shuttle forward and backward and even adjust three target speeds. Speeds range from .02 all the way up to 31 mph.
This Auto Command transmission has been engineered so that it is most efficient at the most frequently used operating speeds for fieldwork and high speed transport, maximizing the amount of mechanical drive. Available in a 31-mph version, customers can reach top speed at lower engine speeds (1,750 engine rpm), which is ideal for farms that undertake extensive transport activities.
In order to enhance safety, especially when transporting fully laden trailers in hilly terrain, the T6 Auto Command features Active StartStop technology. When stationary, the transmission actively holds the tractor in a stationary position.
The SideWinder II armrest
T6 Auto Command operators will enjoy ultimate ergonomic operation courtesy of the SideWinder II armrest. Familiar to those who operate the T7, T8 and T9 tractors, all key controls have been grouped for intuitive operation. The console can be conveniently moved to a position that suits them as the entire console moves along an ergonomic arc.
The CommandGrip, which features soft touch, backlit buttons, has been precision placed so that it nestles under the operator’s right hand.
IntelliSteer fully integrated auto-guidance: enhancing pass-to-pass accuracy
In order to maximize productivity, the T6 Auto Command will be compatible with New Holland’s IntelliSteer fully integrated auto-guidance system, which is due for release at the end of 2013. When combined with New Holland’s PLM software, which can be used to create prescription-rate maps and manage in-field guidance paths, field working will be fully optimized. When RTK correction is used, pass-to-pass accuracy of 1 to 2 cm can be achieved, significantly reducing field compaction rates, optimizing valuable inputs and lowering fuel consumption.
Powerful hydraulics
The 33 gallon-per-minute CCLS hydraulic pump is standard across all T6 Auto Command models. A key benefit of this large capacity pump is reduced fuel consumption. Not only does the large CCLS pump deliver oil only when demanded, there’s also less requirement to operate at a high engine speed just to deliver sufficient oil flow. The benefit is that the fuel saving potential of the Auto Command CVT can be utilized as much as possible. There’s no point in being able to travel at the desired forward speeds at a low engine rpm with a CVT if you then have to manually throttle up to deliver sufficient hydraulic oil flow. The T6 Auto Command is all about reducing operating costs.
Blue Power version: a touch of farming luxury
For customers who are looking for something that’s more exclusive, the Blue Power T6.160 Auto Command boasts eye-catching styling and additional luxury features. Chrome-colored elements, combined with the distinctive midnight blue color, automatically command respect.
ECOBlue SCR technology: reducing fuel consumption by up to 10%
The T6 Series benefits from New Holland’s state-of-the-art ECOBlue SCR technology for Tier 4A compliance. This highly efficient technology will enable owners to reduce their fuel consumption by up to 10%, while simultaneously lowering their carbon footprint by up to 19%. Furthermore, productivity has been significantly increased due to the impressive EPM feature, which provides up to an additional 33 horsepower when challenging operating conditions are encountered.
Upgraded Horizon cab
The T6 Auto Command range benefits from the industry-leading Horizon cab, which offers unsurpassed levels of operator comfort. With interior cab noise levels as low as 69 dBA, the Horizon cab on T6 and T7 Series tractors offers operators a superior level of comfort. Following customer consultation, New Holland has launched an upgraded version for both the T6 and T7 tractors to further enhance comfort and intuitive, ergonomic use.
Enhanced day-long operating comfort
Driver comfort was at the heart of the Horizon cab upgrade, and new items have been included to enhance the operator’s environment. The air conditioning controls, lighting control panel, additional storage slots and the radio have all been conveniently clustered within the roof lining. This enables operators to fine-tune their controls on the move while still keeping their eyes on the road for enhanced safety.
Charging points have also been provided for mobile phones and other electrical items to enable operators to keep in touch at all times. A handy USB and auxiliary port are integrated into the radio for the connection of an MP3 player, while Bluetooth connectivity allows for easy phone pairing.
The Horizon cab now features additional storage solutions, including elastic straps on the rear of the instructor seat, keeping paperwork tidy. An additional net for small items like gloves has also been added to the front of the instructor seat to provide ground-level access.
Auto Command tractors with the SideWinder II console come standard with a tinted rear window. This tint will protect operators from harsh rays when looking out the rear window at their implement during the height of summer. Additional protection is provided by an optional integrated rear sun blind, which is neatly stored away when not required.
Additionally, Auto Command tractors now come standard with the same steering wheel that T8 tractors utilize. This thicker wheel provides operators with a more comfortable and natural grip. This stitched-leather steering wheel is optional on non-Auto Command tractors for those customers who want a touch of luxury. To complete their frills, a thick, New Holland-branded carpet can line the floor for the ultimate in farming comfort.
Upgraded CommandGrip multifunction handle: even easier operation
New Holland listened to customers and installed backlit technology on the CommandGrip multifunction handle. The control icons are illuminated with LED lights to make selecting the desired function when working late into the night even easier. The buttons now also feature soft touch technology, which provides simple operation, reduces fatigue and enhances the overall driving experience.
Larger IntelliView IV color touchscreen monitor optional
For operations which extensively use guidance, the optional, 10.3 inch IntelliView IV color touchscreen monitor will be the correct choice. Mounted to the SideWinder II armrest, operators can quickly and easily select from a whole host of parameters and follow guidance paths with greater ease. This larger screen puts tractor functions and guidance information on a single screen, which means there’s no need to fill the cab with multiple monitors.
A host of luxury options
A host of luxury options are available on both tractors, like enlarged heated mirrors that have an electronically adjustable top section. The manually adjustable wide-angle lower portion has been designed to counteract blind spots in mirrors found on heavy on-road vehicles. This provides operators with the best possible view when maneuvering in confined spaces, trimming roadsides or for keeping an eye on the edges of trailing implements.
