Phillips Industries' Facility in Mexico Receives Masters of Quality Award from Daimler Trucks

Phillips Industries' facility in Mexico has received the Masters of Quality Award from Daimler Trucks for its success as a supplier and continuous improvement efforts.

Phillips Industries Manufactura Zapaliname located in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico has been selected to receive the prestigious Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) Masters of Quality Award for 2011.  In operation since 2007, Saltillo now joins Phillips’ California facility, which has won the award three times, in meeting DTNA high quality standards.

DTNA presents the Masters of Quality Award annually to an elite group of suppliers who meet their rigorous standards and also show a commitment for continual improvement. Daimler’s suppliers are evaluated semi-annually on more than 100 criteria related to quality, service, aftermarket parts availability, engineering, warranty and purchasing; and only those rated at the top are recognized with this award.

Phillips Industries supplies air and electrical system components from their Saltillo, Mexico plant to DTNA. Rob Phillips, Vice President of Global Operations, comments, “Opening the facility in Saltillo has turned out to be a significant move for our company. The people there have met all our expectations, and obviously those of customers; it is reflected in this latest quality award. Phillips Industries always takes pride in receiving DTNA’s quality recognition and we’re very pleased that the Saltillo site has now been included as a recipient. We will continue to improve and grow this operation to meet the growing global demand for Phillips products.”
