Motor vehicle designers requiring custom molded high performance plastic (HPP) components such as floating pistons for shock absorbers benefit from the capabilities of Minnesota Rubber and Plastics (MR&P).

  • 1-3/4 in. dia. floating pistons feature special Quad Ring seal; fits securely inside shock absorber bore
  • Seal is precision molded from HNBR elastomer for high concentricity, low friction, long operating life
  • To facilitate manufacture, high speed system moves the injection molded pistons into position for assembly
  • Once assembled, system’s vision system inspects for quality, ensuring seals are positioned correctly within piston slots
