TURCK has acquired a 50% interest in its long-term Canadian sales partner, Chartwell Automation Inc. The new company name is now TURCK Chartwell Canada Inc. Furthermore, on October 1, 2017, TURCK will acquire the remaining shares and thus be 100% owner of the new subsidiary, TURCK Canada Inc.
Mark and Steve Boehmer, the two founders of Chartwell, have signed long-term management contracts. They will continue to lead the company as president and vice president of sales and marketing. This year, TURCK Chartwell Canada projects sales of 14 million CDN dollars.
”With this investment in our company, TURCK has demonstrated its support and commitment not only to us, but more importantly, to the Canadian market and our customers from coast to coast,” says Chartwell co-founder Steve Boehmer. “Our partnership with TURCK will create a more comprehensive infrastructure, with faster response times and direct access to all of the resources available through TURCK’s worldwide network. We are extremely pleased to be a part of the TURCK organization.”
Dave Lagerstrom, CEO and President of TURCK North America, adds, “We are very excited to fortify our global position with this strengthened relationship. The agreement builds upon an already strong partnership and will ensure our customers receive an integrated product offering and service that is second to none, whether they are located in Canada or anywhere else in North America.”
“With this agreement we are taking the next step in our globalization strategy,” says TURCK’s Managing Director Christian Wolf. “To further expand our leading market position in North America, we have decided to intensify our commitment in Canada. TURCK North America, which includes the United States, Mexico and Canada, will have a turnover of $250 million in 2014. Chartwell has been our exclusive partner in Canada since its foundation in 1983 and has successfully grown TURCK as one of the leading automation suppliers. We are very excited to have the founders and their 40 employees join the TURCK team and continue to grow our business.”
