Komatsu Debuting Digital Technologies for Improved Construction Equipment Performance

At CONEXPO 2020, Komatsu will introduce new patent-pending technology and equipment aimed at improving the productivity and efficiency of construction operations.

Komatsu plans to debut several new products and technologies during CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020. Many of the machines will be brand-new to the North American market.

New technologies Komatsu intends to debut include My Komatsu, an all-inclusive digital e-commerce solution for fleet management, equipment monitoring and parts ordering, accessible from any connected device. This is part of the company's overall goal of demonstrating how technology, data, equipment and service solutions leverage digitalization to control costs, timelines and resources. As such, Komatsu plans to unveil patent-pending technology and equipment at two events during the show:

Among the 25 machines it intends to display during CONEXPO will be the D51i-24 and D61i-24 dozers configured with patent-pending proactive dozing control. This technology enables operators to use machine control from "grass to grade." As the machine moves, it records terrain data. Using real-time conditions and that terrain data, the system makes calculated decisions about whether to cut and carry material, spread or fill that material, or whether to perform finish grading.

There will also be several new machines for the North American market, as well as others which have been recently introduced. The machines will be focused on the construction industry as well as quarry, energy, wast and forestry applications.

Komatsu is also supporting the Tech Experience Smart Cities and Tech Talk on March 13, at 10:15 a.m. Product managers from Komatsu will discuss the role digital solutions are playing in today's construction sits and how they will help transform the overall construction industry.
