KS Kolbenschmidt GmbH is manufacturing the mono-bloc steel pistons for the new Scania V8 engine; with a top performance of 730 hp this is presently the most powerful truck engine worldwide.

Design features friction-welding and a low weight
Provides cooling and linear guidance
Offers durabile construction
Features diameter of 130 mm
All-steel construction ensures higher mileages than aluminum
Long skirt directly connected to pin boss and under-crown transfers high side forces and stable guidance in cylinder bore without compromising structure
Asymmetric skirt design on thrust and anti-thrust side minimize friction and weight
