Cummins Inc. has unveiled the upgraded high performance 8.9-L (8,900 cc) L Series engine designed to meet China Stage IV (CS IV).
- Available from 202-400 hp (151-298 kW)
- Offers peak torque of 1,800 Nm (1,327.6 ft.-lbs.), an 11% increase over that of the previous CS III engine
- Provides class-leading fuel economy and ability to run at high altitudes while maintaining power capability
- Delivers up to 10% increased power density with better transient performance for improved machine productivity
- Suitable for wide range of construction equipment including wheel loaders, excavators, forklifts, cranes, drills, air compressors and road machinery
- Common technology with EU Stage V engines, allowing dual certification for Stage V and CS IV
- Cummins electronic control system and air-intake to exhaust-out system capability enables seamless machine integration and easier emissions upgrades for customers
- Uses SCR and DPF plus DOC to significantly reduce NOx and PM emissions versus CS III
