Hatz is introducing its E1 technology as the first electronic controls for single-cylinder industrial diesel engines worldwide.
- Bridges gap between previously mechanically controlled engines and requirements for digital operations
 - Components include engine control unit (ECU), sensors and fuel injector, with electromagnetic valve specially developed in cooperation with Bosch
 - ECU continuously measures speed, oil pressure, oil and engine temperature, operating time or environmental data to ensure perfect operation
 - Allows manufacturers and operators to retrieve engine-relevant data using new Hatz diagnostic tool HDS2 and via CAN J1939
 - Enables additional functions for simplified operation including automatic start protection for preventing starter damages, and idle connection control for automatic shut-down
 - Universal interface allows for continuous data exchange with control unit
 - Data transfer in both directions enables engine data to be analyzed and new data to be loaded
 - Various operating modes can be set, for example constant speed for certain applications, eco mode for emission-sensitive environments or adjustment of engine to different fuel alternatives
 - Interface of E1 technology functions as core component for integration and networking of machines in digital applications and Internet of Things
 - Currently available on single-cylinder B- and D-Series engines
