2027 X15 Specs Sj

Cummins Inc. has introduced its 2027 X15 heavy-duty diesel engine, which is designed to improve fuel efficiency and meet future emissions regulations while building on the company's existing 15-L platform.

The 2027 X15 is part of the company's updated heavy-duty lineup, which focuses on providing dependable performance for fleets while helping manage fuel costs, maintain uptime, and comply with emissions standards. The engine builds upon more than 25 years of the X15 platform heritage, maintaining a familiar architecture and proven components while incorporating refinements to improve fuel efficiency compared to the 2024 model. According to Cummins, the new engine will maintain similar diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) consumption levels.

The 2027 X15 is rated for up to 605 hp and 2,050 lb-ft of torque.

The engine is part of an integrated powertrain that includes Meritor components optimized for the linehaul market. These include the 14X HE tandem drive axle with a 2.15 ratio and the RPL35+ driveline system, which offers weight savings and improved serviceability. The system also supports Meritor trailer technologies, including the MTec6 axle and the Meritor Tire Inflation System, as well as EX+ LS air disc brakes.

Cummins is also offering digital features designed to connect vehicle operations with maintenance services using real-time data. These capabilities include predictive service insights, over-the-air software updates, and digital maintenance tools intended to minimize downtime and streamline fleet management. The digital features are enabled by Cummins' Acumen smart computing hardware or an OEM telematics device and are available through Cummins Connected Solutions or participating OEM portals.
