MANN+HUMMEL opens Innovation Center in partnership with North Carolina State University

To further extend its business in North America, MANN+HUMMEL has opened a new Innovation Center in partnership with North Carolina State University.

MANN+HUMMEL has opened the doors of newly constructed Innovation Center in partnership with North Carolina State University. Raleigh, NC will also be the future site of MANN+HUMMEL’s North American headquarters for its Automotive Aftermarket and Industrial Filtration divisions, as well as for its Sales and Marketing division for the Purolator brand.

The investment and opening of the North Carolina Innovation Center reinforces MANN+HUMMEL’s commitment to creating innovative solutions for the future of filtration technology. Through its partnership with North Carolina State University, MANN+HUMMEL seeks to build on its leadership and create further opportunities to recruit the best minds in advanced development and filtration, and to become the market’s first choice for advanced filtration technology. The North Carolina Innovation Center will combine engineering, research, strategy and innovation to provide world-class research and tailored solutions for customers' future products. “Our aim is to focus on innovation, quality, and speed,” notes Manfred Wolf, President and General Manager of the Automotive and Industrial Business at MANN+HUMMEL. “Innovation is who we are. Innovation is what our customers expect, and we are happy to help them solve their challenges today, and in the future.”

MANN+HUMMEL’s presence in the United States began in 1994 with the establishment of MANN+HUMMEL Filter Technology Inc. in Glenview, IL. In order to support a growing customer base and meet market demand, the company added locations in Michigan, North Carolina and Tennessee over the past 10 years. As of November 1, 2013, MANN+HUMMEL added the newly opened MANN+HUMMEL North Carolina Innovation Center on Centennial Campus, in partnership with North Carolina State University to its family of facilities in North America.

The company will continue its expansion later this year by establishing a North American headquarters for Automotive Aftermarket and Industrial Filtration, and Purolator Sales and Marketing divisions in Raleigh, NC. The move represents a long-term investment and commitment to the people and communities in America, as well as supporting customers and growing market demand.

With the acquisition of Purolator and establishment of MANN+HUMMEL Purolator Filters on April 1, 2013, MANN+HUMMEL strengthened its position and market coverage in the United States. Purolator has served markets in the Americas and Asia with more than 2,000 filtration part numbers since 1923. Combined with MANN FILTER, it will provide customers around the globe with a more robust product offering and service. MANN+HUMMEL will continue its expansion in North Carolina, with plans to invest over $15 million in its Fayetteville and Raleigh sites over the next two years.
