James Dawson & Son appoints new Managing Director

James Dawson & Son announces it has appointed Paul Edwards as the company's new Managing Director to help further advance global growth and investment in R&D.

James Dawson & Son Ltd - the engineer of bespoke advanced silicone and organic rubber products whose key customers include Caterpillar, JCB and Cummins - has appointed Paul Edwards as its new Managing Director.

Edwards joined James Dawson & Son as Sales & Marketing Director in 2009 with the remit to rebuild the company’s order book and strengthen customer relationships. Having successfully rebuilt and developed the sales team, James Dawson & Son – a division of the FTSE 250-listed Fenner Group - has chosen Edwards as the person to lead the business into an exciting new period that includes further global growth and significant investment in R&D.

Bill Cox, meanwhile, has joined James Dawson & Son as the new Sales & Marketing Director. Cox previously worked for Manoir Industries and was key to their sales growth both in the UK and Europe, particularly in the aerospace sector.

Edwards says, “My job is to ensure we maintain our commitment to ensuring our customers benefit from our bespoke engineering solutions, immediate appreciation of their technical requirements, and our clarity in understanding and responding to both current demands and future technology.

“Our reliability in regards to manufacturing, quality and delivery are key to the long-lasting relationships with customers that form the basis of any successful business.”

On the appointment of Cox, Edwards says, “I was fortunate enough to work with Bill at Firth Rixson, so have seen first-hand the value he can bring to a business.

“He is dedicated, great to deal with and brings with him a wealth of highly relevant experience from similar, bespoke engineered solutions businesses.”

Employing more than 220 staff, James Dawson & Son has its headquarters in Lincoln in the UK and offices in North America, China and across Europe.
