HydraForce, a subsidiary of Bosch Rexroth, has launched the EVDR-1206A, a general-purpose valve driver featuring twelve outputs and six inputs. The new unit is engineered for hydraulic proportional valve applications in complex mobile and off-highway equipment and is designed specifically for directional-type valve systems.

The EVDR-1206A delivers configurable, closed-loop current control for six proportional directional valves from a single compact unit. It is designed to provide OEM engineers the flexibility to manage complex multi-function machine circuits without adding control hardware. The unit accepts SAE J1939 CAN input or an independent voltage signal and features a single CAN 2.0B communication port for integration into modern electrohydraulic architectures.

Key technical specifications of the EVDR-1206A include:

  • Twelve current-controlled high-side PWM outputs (0–2.4 A, 50–1000 Hz)
  • Six configurable inputs (0–5 V, 0–32 V or ratiometric)
  • An ARM Cortex M4 processor running at 128 MHz
  • A wide supply voltage range of 9–32 Vdc for 12 V and 24 V systems
  • IP67/IP69K environmental rating for operation in harsh conditions
  • Operating temperature range of –40 to 80 C (–40 to 176 F)

The EVDR-1206A is a new, higher I/O valve driver with a rugged and compact design that can be mounted independently or attached to your sectional valve or manifold. It adds additional I/O capacity and shares hardware with the upcoming fully programmable ECDR-1206A. Both units will work with HF-Impulse 2.0 configuration and programming software.

The valve driver is configured using HF-Impulse 2.0, HydraForce's free, web-accessible software. The application allows engineers to define metering profiles, ramp rates and control parameters through an intuitive interface to shorten development cycles and reduce integration effort. Configuration is performed via CAN.

The unit's compact plug-in design and standard mating connectors are intended to ease installation and servicing. The EVDR-1206A is CE-qualified to support OEM compliance programs in global markets and is available now.
