EIMA International will begin on Wednesday, November 11 in Bologna, with the credentials for a new great success. Today, 10 months before the event, 1,600 companies (600 of which are foreign) have already formalized their request for participation.

According to FederUnacoma, the association that represents the manufacturers of agricultural machinery and that organizes the international exhibition of agricultural mechanics, it could match and exceeded the event's historical record reached in 2018 with 1,950 exhibiting companies. According to the organizers' forecasts, the exhibitors who participated in the 2018 edition should fully confirm their presence given the event's high loyalty rate. Furthermore, about 100 "new entry" companies have already formalized their request for participation.

During a press conference in Fieragricola, the general manager of FederUnacoma Simona Rapastella explained that to date, 90% of the exhibition areas are already virtually occupied, with a complete product category coverage. The presence of companies and models is particularly significant in sectors IV (tillage and soil preparation), II (remediation and forestation), and in the EIMA Idrotech (irrigation systems) and EIMA Components salons.

Many new features are planned, starting from the logistical and organizational ones. After the two new halls 29 and 30 inaugurated in 2018, a third will be added, hall 37, which covers over 16,000 sq. m, with the highest architectural and functional standards. Another important change concerns the car parks, eliminated from the indoor parts of the exhibition center, with an upgrade of the external ones. The space made available by this change will allow the establishment of a demonstration area dedicated to machines for the management of agricultural and forest biomass, machines for territorial adjustments and prevention of geological risk, but above all to the event/show of the finalists for Tractor of the year.

The EIMA Digital thematic area becomes a veritable exhibition on agriculture 4.0 technologies, and also includes space for the numerous Start-ups of the sector, thus joining the EIMA Green, EIMA Energy exhibitions, as well as the EIMA Idrotech and EIMA Components shows. The EIMA MiA space, dedicated to multi-functionality, is no longer a single block, but is instead divided into three distinct initiatives: the first dedicated to territorial adjustments and the fight against hydrogeological instability and environmental risk; the second to the establishment and maintenance of green areas; the third to conferences on multifunctional issues.

However, the real strong point of the 2020 edition of EIMA International, noted Rapastella, is once again innovation. With the aim of enhancing the new technologies developed by the agricultural mechanics industries, about 2 months before the exhibition the "Technical Innovations" competition offers a specifically dedicated event. The rendezvous is for mid-September in Bologna, with a preview of the award-winning technologies, which will then be put on display at EIMA. This will allow the manufacturers to illustrate in detail the technical contents of their innovations.

Still on the subject of competitions, EIMA International sees the debut of a new initiative this year with the contest relating to the exhibition stands. "A commission of experts," explained Rapastella, "will reward the best performing stands from an aesthetic and functionality point of view, underlining the growing propensity of the manufacturers to enhance the mechanical products in their design and to promote the corporate brand through a coordinated image that is increasingly effective and attractive."
